The title of this post may be confusing to some of you at the moment, but let me explain. In a nutshell, my bedroom is really small (9×10 or something), it’s not as small as a closet unless we’re talking about a walk-in closet. A bedroom of this size doesn’t leave too much room for items other than a bed, dresser and maybe a nightstand or two, but I’ve managed to fit a lovely chair in the corner.
As mentioned in the last post, I’ve been working on a moodboard to hopefully help me stay on task. This is what I have so far.
Of course, in true indecisive fashion, I’m not sure about any of these items other than what I already own. Wait I lied, I own most if not all of these items in a similar style other than the chevron vase, watercolor fashion print, fuchsia pillows and the floral pillow. The artwork is my main concern because I want a large size and that print is $76.00 for a 16×20, which would make it the most expensive purchase in my room. Time to get out some tutorials and work on my drawing and painting skills or lack thereof. Does anyone know where to purchase fuchsia pink velvet pillows? Do they not exist for a reasonable price? The ones pictured are $115 a piece and…yeah, no!
And just because I love to ask for the assistance of our lovely readers, I’ve included a sneak peek of what my room looks like as of now.
Pretty right? I’m happy with everything you see in this picture especially my black and white striped euro pillows, which I made with the leftover fabric from my chair. The books are thrift store purchases covered in scrapbook paper from Michael’s. The white figurine is also a thrift store purchase painted white and the glass tear drop lamp is from Target. The floral sheets were also a thrift store purchase, but I have a confession, the floral sheets are not really sheets. Shocking right? They’re actually…well i don’t know what they are, maybe some type of drapery.
Please feel free to make suggestions! Should I add a black and white geometric to complement the floral and stripes? Ditch the pink or multi-colored floral pillows? Add a rug, although, my room may be too small to pull one-off.
I can’t wait until my bedroom is complete so I can stop obsessing over it.
UPDATE: I’ve decided to give up on my search of fuchsia velvet pillows after three days of searching. I’ve created a new moodboard using teal velvet pillows, which I’ve recently seen for sale at Pier 1. I have a perfectly good and sane reason for why I’ve chosen this route. The cost of the fuchsia fabric needed to make my pillows along with shipping is about the same price as two pillows at Pier 1. The difference being that the Pier 1 pillows come with the inserts and I don’t have to make them. That saves me time and money. I’ve also added some lovely watercolor floral pillows and abstract artwork.
This could work right? I can now stop obsessively search for fuchsia pillows! Yay! I first spotted the lovely pillows over at Design Sponge. It’s like it was meant to be! Look there is a teal dresser!
They’re made by the company Bluebellgray. It costs a little more than I’d like to pay, but I could splurge on a pillow that is this lovely and mimics a work of art! It’ll be my Christmas gift to myself.
