Confessions of a Chair Addict(s)

Remember that debate between my sister and I concerning the placement of the bookcase? Well it’s still currently part of the gallery wall as I insisted. Yay! However, that left the corner behind the sofa very sad and lonely. Just look at that stupid thermostat!

Breeze has really been enjoying his portrait, he takes a stroll across the mantel, admiring himself on a daily basis.

Anyway…I thought of possible decor items to fill the space; a large wall mirror, more gallery frames, a chair…a chair? You may be thinking how many chairs does one need in their home. And my answer is, as many as your home allows. You can never have enough chairs and I found the perfect one to bring our living room seating total to a comfortable eight.

I purchased this vintage mid-century chair via craigslist for a mere $15 and even had it delivered for an extra $5, which beats trying to fit it in our car. We’re not really sure if we like the color of this chair. It definitely photographs better, that’s for sure. It will most likely stay like this for awhile because I’m not in the upholstering mood at the moment and the addition of the yellow chevron pillow already makes it look a lot better, a throw may actually make it appeasing.

This has been a pretty good week for thrifting for me. I’ve been finding some gems lately, including this chair, which I or Milla (because she is part of this site though she has been invisible, lately-hehe) will share later.

Now about that thermostat….

Love the chair!! I can’t believe it was only $15! Great find! I would love for you to come party today with us over at Passionatelyperfect.com!

    • Kahli

Hey Sherika! I couldn’t believe it either! I’ll link up now!

  2. Dana @ Circa Dee

What a deal! I like the chair and the color seems to work with the elements on the gallery wall.

    • Kahli

Well I’m glad you like the color because everyday I look at it and convince myself to not upholster it. I think it works well for the moment. Thanks for visiting as always Dana.

  3. Jill @ Junky Vagabond

So many things to comment on: adorable portrait, love the bookcase, and that chair was quite the find! I’m in a mid-century frame of mind lately and that one is cool! Have you seen the frames people are putting around their thermostat? Maybe you can extend the gallery wall around the corner…whatever you come up with, I’m sure we’ll adore it!!

    • Kahli

That’s exactly what I told Milla! That we should extend the gallery wall and put a little frame around the thermostat. I knew you would agree with me Jill. I’ll let her buy those frames because I’ve bought all of the other ones lol. I just love the mid-century style!

  4. samaa @ Honey Sweet Home

15 BUCKS?! That is unbelievable!! It’s sooo gorgeous, and super chic, don’t change it!! Although I’m sure whatever other fabric you pick will be gorgeous too :) But I love the look, and it’s got a subtle masculinity too it which is really cool :)

    • Kahli

Well that does it! It’s staying as is. I actually like it as is now so I have no problem living with it. Thanks Samaa

  5. Redlilocks {Swoon Worthy}

Oh my god, can’t believe the deal you got on this!! And if I’m honest, I quite like the colour, it works really well with the gold frames :) I vote for saving yourself the hassle and keeping it as is! xxx

    • Kahli

That’s exactly what we plan to do! I’ll never turn down the opportunity to be lazy lol.
