The Gift That Keeps on Giving: Lucky Vintage Finds

Hey there! I bet you all have been wondering where we’ve been for the past few days…we’ve been super busy planning our birthday party. Birthday planning is hard work! We’re turning 25 and that’s something we felt needed to be celebrated. As I stated last week, our theme is a vintage french theme, so we’ve been continuing to collect vintage inspired furniture and things. We were essentially planning our party in a backwards fashion, buying before booking the venue. Last Wednesday we began to get discouraged while searching because nothing was going as planned and we had a bunch of vintage items sitting in our living room like a second hand store. But the good news is that we did finally find a venue!

Now onto the point of this post…this lovely vintage tea cart we purchased via Craigslist for an absolute steal! This beauty was $40 and in excellent condition!

It’ll make a perfect display for desserts at the party don’t you think? We have no plans to paint it at the moment and will try to make it work in its natural state. Look at those gorgeous wheels! The tea cart did come with a drawer, but I forgot to put it in for the pictures.

I also bought a small vintage desk & chair for my bedroom, which I’ve changed around. I know  I have a minor problem, but this desk was too cute to leave there. See for yourself.

Look at those beautiful turned legs and scallop detail! And not to mention the top folds down. The top of the desk needs some minor refinishing. I’m not sure if I should leave it black or paint white. I’m leaning towards keeping it black at the moment. And let’s talk about this gilded chair with the bamboo detail! With a reupholstered seat she will be looking like a star.

    Great Find! I love the tea cart the most, fabulous price,too. I think I’d leave the desk black also. You still see the details and I think the black makes it look a bit more sophisticated! Can’t wait to see the chair with the new seat. : )

    I’m considering keep the desk black. I’ll have to really look at it in my room. My room is so small and if it needs to be opened up I won’t be able to leave it black.
