If any of you have been treated to buckets of non-stop rain the past few days, I bet you are ready for another chair makeover. We’re so excited to show you guys what took us only three days to complete. Yes, we’re crazy obsessed with our DIY projects.
Much like our previous armchair makeover, this chair and fabric we purchased at quite a steal. And much like the previous armchair makeover, this chair was just as ugly in its previous state. See it below:
Ahh! My eyes! I’m kidding, it wasn’t that bad. But the bright sun definitely makes it look much better. The frame was covered in some kind of black gunk that I had to clean off with my best disinfectant wipes, sand the entire frame, and then wipe off the remaining dust with paper towels.
It’s that day again…Twinterest Tuesday. However, let me first say as of yesterday, our blog has been online for one month. Happy One Month Anniversary Design Par Deux! Now that the mushy stuff is out of the way, view the latest round up below: Read more
A few days ago we gave a sneak peek of a dresser we had been working on for a girl’s bedroom. The dresser wasn’t in the best condition and required some work to get it in tip-top shape. Here is a before picture:
We haven’t had a project post in three days! Ugh, I’m so disgusted. Mother nature has really killed our DIY buzz these days. Also, the sun has been running away before 8pm, not good for us since we work late some days. However, the good news and the reason for this post is that we’ve been working on some projects. We mentioned in previous posts that we’re currently designing another little girl’s room. In the past couple of weeks, we’ve completed a headboard and a desk. She still needs a night stand and dresser, the latter is what you will see a sneak peek of today.
More details to come later. Return for the makeover post including before pictures and some spray painting tips.
Friday couldn’t get here fast enough! For two reasons. Number one, I’m off of work and number two, no work on Monday! For us that just means more time to thrift. Anyway let’s get to this week’s frugal finds..
Tuesday seems to roll around so fast. I felt like I just did a roundup. Anyway, today is Twinterest Tuesday! It’s the last Tuesday of August. Not too sad to see it go this year though. August, please blame Mother Nature for that. She let you down. Excuse my rant, view the goodies below:
Today I was off from work because the power was still out from Hurricane Irene. So instead of just spending the day resting, I decided to finish up some painting projects. The first project on my list was to paint a desk for a girl’s bedroom. Here is the before:
Recently we’ve received several compliments on the artwork hanging above our beautiful chair. We purchased it at our local Goodwill, however it’s available for a reasonable price of $30.00 here (sorry, not framed). And because we like vintage art so much we decided to do a roundup of posters available for purchase online. If you’re stuck under a hurricane/storm advisory like us and have nothing else to do check them out below:

It’s Friday. Frugal Friday to be exact! Albeit mother nature had it in for the East Coast all week, we found time to check out a couple local thrift stores and Goodwill’s. Some not so local, but we’d drive a little bit of a distance for a good deal. Most if not all things we saw this week we actually purchased. Yes, the temptation got the best of us. We’re so weak.
