Party Planning Stress

Hello Lovelies!!! How are you all this sunny and hot evening…well in Maryland? Anyway it seems we’ve disappeared from the blog world. Yes, we’re already hanging our heads with shame. But of course  there are reasons to be happy…we’re party planning yay!

Kah and I will be turning 25 seven days from today and our party is on the 24th. So we’ve been obsessing over place settings, centerpieces, and dessert tables these past few weeks. And we haven’t even figured out what we’re going to wear so I’ve been stressing about that too. Finding one dress is hard enough, but we have to find two in a little over a week. Sigh…where did the month of March fly off to?

What else have we been up to…oh we purchased a new fancy camera. A Sony 16.2 Megapixel Digital Camera with 30x Optical Zoom.

Sony DSC-HX100V/B Cyber-Shot Digital Camera

Isn’t it gorgeous! It usually retails for $429, however it is still on sale for $399. It takes wonderful pictures like those you will see below.  Our standard 10 megapixel camera just doesn’t compare. The best feature has to be the brightness and crispness of the photos. Take a look…

So our color scheme is a bright pink and aqua (more on the minty side) with a touch of gray. In this photo above we were practicing staging for the dessert table. This thrifted vintage tilt frame received a nice coat of Syngery by Sherwin Williams before we used it to hold the display sign for the dessert table. We added a real carnation in a mason jar with a pearl necklace for more detail. I love it!

Here is a shot focusing more on the Dessert Display. Kah designed the sign on Photoshop, isn’t it pretty? I just love this bright color scheme. I can’t stop looking at these pictures!

This photo shows our current plan for the place setting. We purchased robin’s egg and white striped napkins ($2.00/each) from Target. Those carnations ($3 for a bush of 7-8) are artificial and sold at Walmart, Homes and Gardens line. We removed the stems.  These fake carnations don’t look any different from the real ones so we purchase 60 of the artificial flowers for about $30. The silverware is actually silver plastic ($1 for 4 spoons/4 forks/4 knives set) from the Dollar Tree. It looks so real in the photograph and on the tables.

So this is what we have so far. You likey?

We’re trying to set up at home for all the tables, staging, etc. and then photograph it so that we will be well prepared on the day of. And just to think only a few weeks ago we had just an invitation. Yay for productivity and organization!
