Sleeping in the Shower with Pillows

Hello lovelies! Milla here! Where have I been right? Obviously not in the mood for decorating or blogging as I just got over a hazardous cold and whatever productive  energy I had left, Kah sucked it all up. I guess that’s how we as twins keep things balanced *shrugs*.

Anyhoo, the title of this post may seem a little misleading so allow me to clear up the confusion. First off, don’t be alarmed. We are not sleeping in the shower. Kah purchased this shower curtain from Urban Outfitters as a Christmas gift for me intending to make pillows for my bedroom. Thanks Kah, love you!!!

The floral pattern is lovely isn’t it? It’s the much needed statement to add to my  navy, turquoise and white bedroom. And I believe the curtain is made from 100% cotton, so it’s comfortable. I hope you all weren’t thinking that I would actually lie against two huge vinyl pillows. Check out the beauties below:

So this is how they currently look on my bed. Wow look at that beautiful sunlight streaming in. Can you believe it was a wonderful 64 degrees here in Baltimore today! It is January isn’t it?

Here are a few more shots of my room so far:

See my artwork? It’s huge and only cost me 15 dollars. I’m loving it. What I’m not sure about is keeping the mirror above my bed. Kah and I were discussing maybe switching it out for headboard. Something like this one below as seen at 6th Street Design School:

Salt Lake City Parade of Homes: Navy Headboard

We are loving the tall headboard with the plush velvet fabric. And look at the gorgeous shape! Best part about all of the this is that I just met someone who can make a headboard similar to this one. Bonus!

I can already imagine how glamorous my bedroom will look with that headboard and my pillows. I’m excited.

Here’s another look at the pillows with a shot of my nightstand and lamp included. Isn’t that lamp stunning? Love the shape, detail, and tall base. Kah found and purchased that for me during one of her thrifty excursion when she should have been at work.

I still have a dilemma with my room other than the mentioned mirror. There is too much white on my bed. I’m thinking either more patterned pillows or a colorful throw to breakup the white, or both. So I’m on the hunt for those items. Yippy (sarcasm laced). And I just noticed the lack of decorative accessories here. Great!

Great idea! I love the pattern and colors. I’m going to start looking at the shower curtain aisle more closely.

    • Milla

I know it was such a great idea! I have to look at more too

  2. Katie @ Wildwood Creek

Love the colors! Inspired idea to use the shower curtain to make pillows!

  3. Bernadette @b3hd

LOVE repurposed textiles. And your color scheme. These would make lovely pillows for our summer couch color scheme.

    All the best!

    • Milla

Thanks Bernadette! Glad we could inspire you

    Hi Milla,
I know this is an older post, but what did you decide to add color to your bed. If you still have some of the shower curtain left, you could add a ruffle or border on a simple throw to bring that pattern and color in. A solid blue throw would be amazing but I know from experience, it might be difficult to match the blue exactly. Hope you’ll post new pics if you’ve added to your room. : )

    Hello fellow Baltimorean!
I just love, love you guys! I’m thinking to redo my whole house with your ideas!
I need 3 headboards. Do you mind to share your contact? A little black list with your favorite goodies hunting places would be great! Continue. Your great and inspiring work !

    • Kahli

Hey Maison! Glad you love all of our ideas :). The contact is actually Milla’s boyfriend haha. Maybe he won’t mind cutting out the shape :). We’re actually planning to upholster the headboards ourselves. Wish us luck! About the blacklist, I’ll shoot that over to you in an email when you reply to this.
